Best beaches in Limassol for kids and families
Not every Limassol beach is built for children. Some are pebbly and steep; others are exposed all day with no shade. The ones below are the genuine family beaches - shallow entry, soft sand, lifeguards in season, and somewhere to escape the midday sun.
We've also added the seafront beach restaurants that let you turn a beach morning into an easy lunch without packing up the car.
Family-friendly beaches
Soft golden sand framed by a fragrant eucalyptus grove - one of the few in-town beaches with proper natural shade. Shallow swims, lifeguards in season and a long pedestrian path right behind.
Limassol's iconic seafront park: a flat 1km stroller-friendly promenade lined with palms, sculptures and three large playgrounds. Bike rentals at either end and the marina at the south.
A 7km stretch of hard-packed sand and pebbles on the Akrotiri side of the bay. The water stays ankle-shallow for a long way out, making it the obvious toddler-friendly counterpoint to Dasoudi - and the further south you drive past the cranes, the prettier it gets.
A series of small Blue Flag coves backed by striking white chalk-rock formations and dark grey sand. Clear, deeper water than the city beaches and a row of long-running family fish tavernas right behind - a 25–30 minute drive east of town.
A long sand-and-pebble beach beneath dramatic white cliffs, in the British Sovereign Base Area - which is why it's stayed undeveloped. Often breezy (kite- and wind-surfers love it) with a handful of beach tavernas. Pair it with the ruins above for a half-day out.

Quick answers
Which Limassol beach has the shallowest water for small children?+
Lady's Mile and Dasoudi both have a long, gradual shallow entry - you can walk out a long way before it gets above a toddler's waist. Avoid the rockier stretches west of the Old Port if you're with under-5s.
Are Limassol beaches lifeguarded?+
Blue Flag and municipal beaches (Dasoudi, Akti Olympion, Governor's, Pissouri) are typically lifeguarded May–October. Outside that window swim with extra caution and stay close to shore.
Where can I park a stroller at the beach?+
Dasoudi has paved paths through the eucalyptus grove right up to the sand. Molos promenade is one long, flat, stroller-friendly seafront with three large playgrounds.
