Free things to do with kids in Limassol
Half the best things to do in Limassol with kids cost nothing. The seafront is free, the beaches are free, the wetlands are free, and the city has invested in some genuinely good public playgrounds. Here's the curated list of free family-friendly spots worth your time.
Free outdoor spaces
Soft golden sand framed by a fragrant eucalyptus grove - one of the few in-town beaches with proper natural shade. Shallow swims, lifeguards in season and a long pedestrian path right behind.
Limassol's iconic seafront park: a flat 1km stroller-friendly promenade lined with palms, sculptures and three large playgrounds. Bike rentals at either end and the marina at the south.
Cyprus' largest wetland - flamingos in winter, wildflowers in spring. The Environmental Centre has hands-on kids' exhibits, films and free guided trails through the salt-lake landscape.
A 7km stretch of hard-packed sand and pebbles on the Akrotiri side of the bay. The water stays ankle-shallow for a long way out, making it the obvious toddler-friendly counterpoint to Dasoudi - and the further south you drive past the cranes, the prettier it gets.
A series of small Blue Flag coves backed by striking white chalk-rock formations and dark grey sand. Clear, deeper water than the city beaches and a row of long-running family fish tavernas right behind - a 25–30 minute drive east of town.
A long sand-and-pebble beach beneath dramatic white cliffs, in the British Sovereign Base Area - which is why it's stayed undeveloped. Often breezy (kite- and wind-surfers love it) with a handful of beach tavernas. Pair it with the ruins above for a half-day out.
The natural southern extension of Molos: a wide stone boardwalk past 650 berths of yachts and superyachts, with cafés, ice-cream and the Paradox Museum at the far end. Stroller-flat, beautiful at sunset, and kids love the boat-spotting.
